PawCast is built so your dog's profile, walk routes, and history live on your iPhone or iPad. PawCast does not have user accounts, does not sync your data to its own servers, and does not sell your data.

What we collect

How we use it
- Compute walk scores — combining your dog's on-device profile with live weather, air quality, pollen, UV, and pavement temperature.
- Deliver alerts — daily forecasts, hot-pavement, pollen, air-quality, and best-window reminders, scheduled locally on your device through iOS notifications.
- Provide support — when you contact us through our form, we keep the thread to follow up.
We do not use your data to build advertising profiles, retarget you, or train third-party models.
Location & walk routes
Live tracking uses iOS background location. The route is recorded on your device only and never transmitted. The only location data that leaves your device is the approximate area used to fetch weather, air quality, and pollen — sent through our Cloudflare Worker proxy to Google's APIs without any identifier attached. You can delete any route from the Walk History screen at any time.
What we share — and don't
We share data only with the providers required to run the app:
- Apple — App Store / StoreKit (subscriptions, receipt validation), local push notifications.
- Google — Weather API, Air Quality API, Pollen API. Requests are proxied through our Cloudflare Worker with approximate coordinates only; no identifier is attached.
- Cloudflare — hosts the Worker that proxies the API requests above and signs Apple promotional offers. Standard edge logs may be retained per Cloudflare's policy; we do not retain request bodies.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not share data with advertising networks or data brokers.
Retention
- On-device data: kept until you delete it or uninstall the app.
- Contact-form messages: 24 months, then deleted.
- Subscription receipts: as required by tax law (typically 7 years).
Your rights
Because PawCast keeps your data on-device, most rights are exercised directly in the app: edit or delete dog profiles in Pack, delete walk routes in Walk History, or uninstall the app to remove everything. If you contacted us through the form, you can additionally:
- Access a copy of the message thread we hold.
- Correct or update information you sent us.
- Delete the message thread.
If you're in the EU, UK, or Switzerland, the GDPR also gives you the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. If you're in California, the CCPA gives you the right to know and delete; PawCast does not sell data, so opt-out doesn't apply.

Children
PawCast is not directed at children under 13 (16 in some EU member states). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used PawCast and provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we make a material change, we'll update the "Last updated" date and, where required, post an in-app notice before the change takes effect. The current version is always available at this URL.
